Walking in the Snow, from Run the Jewels' album RTJ4, is a crass and bombastic, countercultural hip-hop banger that's equal parts excitement, tragedy, and ear candy.

Run the Jewels, or, more colloquially, RTJ is coming for everyone. The duo of Killer Mike (Outkast) and El-P are bold, brash, and highly successful. In their own words, "I don't work for free, I am barely giving a fuck away." The bravado and humor mask concern and a surprisingly deep reflection on the worst humankind has wrought upon one another.

RTJ's sound equally matches this mixture of bombast and poignancy. The production of RTJ albums is in the lineage of the best from Public Enemy, Rage Against the Machine, and even heavier rock acts like System of a Down. RTJ knows no bounds when it comes to styles and samples, mixing up jazz, punk rock, EDM, military marches, police whistles, and filthy grunge guitar reverb into an intoxicating hip-hop brew of clever rhymes and beats that are as raw and aggressive as they are expertly crafted. It's astounding. It's infuriating. And it sounds great.

Oh yeah, this live performance is kickass. It's worth a few minutes of your time. In the third minute, Killer Mike gives a fantastic breakdown. To quote the man (cover your ears, children), "Goddamn that motherfucker's cold."
